Local Rules

1. OUT OF BOUNDS
A ball is out of bounds if it lies:
a) Beyond any fence or wall bounding the course, and areas marked by white stakes.
b) On or over the wall to the left of the 3rd green.
c) Beyond the ditch to the left of the 7th green.
d) In or over the car park to the left of the 18th hole.
e) On or over the path from the car park to the Professionals' shop and the continuation of the line of the path up the steps to the Red tee, all paths surrounding the Clubhouse and Professionals' shop including the paved areas (not including the artificial turf path to the first tee).

2. GROUND UNDER REPAIR, DRAINS AND ANIMAL SCRAPES
If a player’s ball lies in an area of “GUR”, or such an area interferes with the player’s stance or intended
swing, the player may take relief under Rule 16.1. Ground under repair is any area marked G.U.R. or
lined with white/blue paint; play is only prohibited where marked.

3. PENALTY AREAS
(Rule 17.1b) play ball as it lies in both Red/Yellow Penalty areas) OR
a) Yellow Area markers---2 options 1/ Stroke and Distance (replay shot). 2/ Back on line relief
(Back on a line from flag through entry point of penalty area) (Rule 17.1d)
b) Red Area Markers ------3 options 1/ Stroke and Distance (replay shot) 2/ Back on line relief
(Back on a line from flag through entry point of penalty area) 3/ Lateral relief (2 club lengths
at point of entry to Penalty Area). (Rule 17.1d).

4. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS
(Rule 16.1)
a) Staked trees and flower beds
b) Shelters, seats, steps, artificial paths, bridges, retaining walls, tee markers/boxes, distance
markers, course equipment or machinery and temporary ropes or hoops placed to protect the
course.
c) The fence at the 4th hole.
d) All fixed sprinkler heads and junction boxes: In addition if such an obstruction on or within
two club lengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play
between the ball and the hole, the player may obtain relief without penalty as follows: If the
ball lies off the putting green but not in a hazard and is within two club lengths of the
intervening obstruction, it may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where
the ball lay which:
i) Is not nearer the hole.
ii) Avoids such intervention.
iii) Is not in a hazard or on a putting green.

5. MOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS
(Rule 15)
a) Fairway direction marker posts.
PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULES:
Match Play - Loss of hole.
Stroke Play - Two strokes.

BYE LAWS: TROLLEYS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON TEES, BEYOND WHITE LINES OR IN
BETWEEN GREEN AND GREENSIDE BUNKERS.


Entry to Course - Players must enter and leave the course by the gateways at the car park and clubhouse.
Except with written permission of the Committee all play must commence at the 1st hole.

KELBURN ESTATE - It is prohibited to search for lost golf balls in the grounds of Kelburn Estate.

ALL DISTANCE MARKERS ARE MEASURED TO THE CENTRE OF THE GREEN
