John Shanks from The Irvine GC claimed his 2nd Viking Krus title with a 4 shot win over our 2025 Club Champion Alan McLean.
John raced to 3 under at the turn in the morning round before slipping up on the inward nine but made up for that with a fantastic 5 under par 65 in the afternoon (3 under for the afternoon back 9).
The wind dropped a little in the afternoon and turned out a great afternoon for golf and scores reflected that. Largs members Alan McLean and Cameron Aitken posting excellent scores of 67 and 68 respectively. Gavin Chesney put up a good defence of his title with solid rounds of 72 and 70.
